Some of you who read my blogs, I have never met and you definitely know a lot more about me than I do about you. The other group of people who read my blogs, I have met in person and I know some are close personal friends and family members, which have also learned a lot more about me over this past year. No matter what group you fit into I want you to hear something from my lips… Ok from my fingers typing on my laptop keyboard. Your brokenness is welcome here.

As a perfectionist myself I never wanted anyone to know I was broken on the inside. I hid all my feelings away. Partly because I felt as though others’ issues were bigger than my own and on the other hand it was because I thought I was the only one going through these kinds of struggles. As I have opened up on this blog and to close friends; I have realized that I am not alone in my struggles and neither are you. No matter what you are going through you are not alone and God didn’t create us to do life alone. What makes you think he wants you to carry your burdens all by yourself? Easier said than done, right?

Look around you, who do you have in your life right now that you know is willing to share in your struggles? First of all, you have God and he desires to hear from you. Even if it feels weird, take some time to just talk to God about your struggles. Share with him what you are feeling, the good, the bad, and the ugly. That is your first step; next, find a friend that you can share anything with and allow them to do the same. Meet on a regular basis and build that relationship. This will take time, don’t expect overnight changes. But what if you don’t feel like you have anyone around you that you can open up to right now? That’s ok, keep your eyes open because you may never know where you will find your person. I met mine on a staff retreat, sitting in a sort of man cave room. Animal heads on the wall, fur rugs, leather couches. Yeah, not where I thought I would find the person who gets me on a deeper level, but that is exactly where we met. I want you to know that I am here for you as well and your brokenness is welcomed here. You don’t have to be perfect and have everything together to be in this community.

I pray that this blog today was an encouragement to you and can help in your daily life. Always know I am available to pray with you or just be someone to talk to when life gets hard. E-mail me at megan@churchanywhere.us if you need prayer!

Talk to you next Monday!
