I have known that I wanted to be a writer since I was 12 years old. I also have known how unlikely or unreachable that dream would be. Many people want to be writers, and few ever get the opportunity to do it full time. Sometimes I have to step back and look at how many writing projects I have going at any given time. A fictional piece over here, a blog post over here, a lesson for Sunday morning class over there. Sometimes I am writing so much that it’s overwhelming. Don’t misunderstand—this isn’t complaining, it’s praise. God has blessed me with a talent, a gift, and He has allowed me to use it for Him. Literally a dream come true.

“Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires.” (Psalm 37:4)

“In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well.” (Romans 12:6a)

“God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.” (1 Peter 4:10)

What are your gifts or talents? What are you passionate about? We have a loving God who made us just the way we are. He knew us before He formed us in the womb, and those talents and gifts He has blessed you with are tools—it is how He has equipped you to do His Kingdom’s work. Are you using your gifts and talents for God? Today, ask God to show you the talents He’s blessed you with and ask Him to reveal the reason for those talents and passions. Ask Him to reveal how you can use them for His Kingdom. Make your heart ready and willing to serve Him.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
