When a Heart Is Exposed
When a Heart Is Exposed
Obadiah writes, “The day of the Lord is near… As you have done, it will be done to you.”
It’s a reminder that a day comes when everything is brought into the light.
We often think of “the day of the Lord” as a future event. But it can also be a personal moment—when something happens that exposes what’s truly ruling inside us.
When you’re criticized, what rises up?
When you’re overlooked, what surfaces?
When you lose control, what takes over?
Is it trust—or pride?
Peace—or fear?
Love—or jealousy?
We may say God rules our hearts. But our reactions often tell the real story.
The light doesn’t come to shame us. It comes to free us.
You can’t surrender what you won’t admit.
You can’t heal what you refuse to see.
When something uncomfortable is exposed—bitterness, insecurity, control—it’s not condemnation. It’s an invitation. God is revealing what has quietly taken the throne so He can reclaim it.
Exposure is uncomfortable. But it’s also mercy.
Because when the light comes, it gives us a choice: defend what’s exposed—or surrender it.
And surrender is where freedom begins.
