Christ, according to John, came into the world and provided a way for those, that are broken, to become children of God.
He provided a way to repair the broken image we see of ourselves and go back to being transformed image bearers of God. Let’s put this in mirror terms – if somebody is looking at a broken version of a mirror, when you see a reflection what should you see? Jesus!
In reality, what do you actually see though? We might see past circumstances, hurts, failures that create a broken version of how Jesus truly sees us. We incorrectly label ourselves or put our identity into earthly things. However, your identity is in Christ Jesus, our Savior. A broken version of ourselves can also impact how you view others – do you label others as unworthy? Jesus came that all might be saved and transformed into His likeness.
John 3:17
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
