Less of Me. More of Him.

Our culture constantly pushes us toward self-reliance. Trust yourself. Do more. Move faster. Protect your time. But Jesus invites us to live differently.

When He talks about prayer, He doesn’t say if you pray — He says when you pray.

Prayer isn’t optional. It’s essential.

Before Jesus gives us the Lord’s Prayer, He reminds us that prayer isn’t about being seen or saying the right words. It’s about coming to God with humility and dependence. Every time we pray, we’re saying, “God, I need You.” And that alone puts us against the current of today’s culture. That’s why Jesus gave us a template for prayer.

The Lord’s Prayer helps realign our hearts:

  • God’s name before our needs

  • God’s will before our plans

  • Daily dependence instead of self-sufficiency

In other words: less of me, more of Him.

Prayer changes us before it changes anything else. And when we add fasting, we intentionally remove distractions so we can focus more clearly on God’s presence and direction.
