From “Hosanna” to “Finished”: What Easter Means for Us
From “Hosanna” to “Finished”: What Easter Means for Us
Palm Sunday begins with celebration. Crowds shout, “Hosanna!” (Matthew 21:8–9), full of excitement and expectation. They believed Jesus would bring quick victory.
We often start the same way—full of hope for what God will do.
Then comes Good Friday.
Now, some of those same voices cry, “Crucify Him!” (Luke 23:21). What looked like victory feels like defeat. But what seemed like the end…was actually part of God’s plan.
And then, the Resurrection.
“He is not here; He has risen” (Matthew 28:5–6). Jesus didn’t avoid death—He defeated it!
That means no situation is without hope. No life is beyond God’s reach.
But Easter doesn’t just stop there.
Jesus calls us forward: “Go and make disciples” (Matthew 28:19). The resurrection isn’t just something we celebrate, it’s something we live!
Paul says it best: “I have fought the good fight…finished the race…kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7).
So the question is: Will we be Palm Sunday followers—passionate at the start but quick to fade?
Or will we be people who finish—faithful to the end?
Because Easter didn’t just change history. It calls us to live differently, every day!
